We’re always glad to welcome new members to our Scout family! There’s a place here for those looking for adventure and for those who want to change their community and their country. Choose who you are:

Cub Scout · ages 7⁠–⁠10 Scout · ages 11⁠–⁠16 Rover · ages 17⁠–⁠22 Scout-leader · 18+

Become a Cub Scout (ages 7⁠–⁠10)

Is your child 7 to 10 and loves games, discoveries and making new friends? In Cub Scouts, children become Adventure Seekers. They team up in small groups of 5⁠–⁠6, and several groups make up a Pack.

Together they set off on Journeys full of Adventures: they learn to be good friends and to care for others, discover their country, go on their first hikes and earn their first Cub Scout skills. The Pack meets at least once a week for 2⁠–⁠3 hours, always with trained Scout-leaders.

Become a Scout (ages 11⁠–⁠16)

Are you 11 to 16 and want to explore the world, take on real challenges and make friends for life? Then come and join us!

As a Scout, you’ll join a Patrol – a team of 6⁠–⁠8 friends where everyone has their own role. Several Patrols make up a Scout Troop, and it’s the Scouts themselves who decide what it does: hikes and camps, community projects, competitions and trips. You can join an existing Patrol or start a new one with your friends. The Troop meets once or twice a week.

Become a Rover (ages 17⁠–⁠22)

Are you 17 to 22 and want to do more than just take part – to create? Rovers are young people who take charge of their own lives and change the world around them.

Every Rover creates a Personal Project for their own growth and brings it to life through real action: in nature, on journeys, in service to the community and in finding their path in a career. Rovers team up in groups of 4⁠–⁠8, and the teams make up a Rover Crew – a true youth democracy where the members make the decisions themselves. Ahead lie international events and the chance to get involved in World Scouting initiatives.

How to join, step by step

Fill in the form via the “Join” button. If you’re under 18, your parents can do it for you.

We’ll get in touch and find the Scout group nearest to you.

Come to your first meeting. No special preparation needed – just be yourself!

Getting started. In the first weeks (up to three months) you get to know the team, the traditions and the Scout-leaders, and take a full part in everything that goes on.

Become a Scout-leader or volunteer (18+)

Scouting isn’t just for young people. Adults play a key role in the growth of Scouts of Ukraine, and that role could be yours. Choose what suits you best:

Working with children and young people

As a Scout-leader, you’ll mentor Cub Scouts, Scouts or Rovers and watch them grow into confident, independent people. Experience in education or youth work is a plus but not a must – we’ll teach you everything you need:

the “Scouting – a Safe Environment” training course – a must for working with children;
training in the NOSU Youth Programme for your age section;
resources: the Scout-leader’s Handbook, Diaries for young members and handbooks;
support throughout your first two programme cycles, so you get off to a confident start.

Helping the organisation grow

Want to shape the growth of Scouts of Ukraine behind the scenes? Join one of our working groups: design, SMM and communications, law, psychology, fundraising and partnerships, advocacy, projects. You can put your skills to use or learn new ones. Not much experience? No problem – we’re ready to teach you. And when your volunteering ends, we provide documents that confirm it.
